HKUST Signs MOU with Guangzhou University to Establish HKUST(GZ)

A Memorandum of Understanding between The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Guangzhou University on the collaboration of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) (HKUST(GZ)) was signed today in Hong Kong by HKUST President Prof. Wei SHYY and Prof. WEI Minghai, President of Guangzhou University under the witness of Mr ZHANG Shuofu, Secretary of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and HKUST Council Chairman Mr Andrew LIAO.

HKUST and Guangzhou University have reached agreement in the cooperation in running schools, to seize this historical opportunity to contribute to the planning and development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and to promote substantive and in-depth cooperation on the construction of world-class universities, the joint construction of advanced scientific research and innovation platforms, as well as the application of scientific research achievements and industrial promotion.
